I'm proud to be a teacher, a Ward 8 native, and a sixth generation Washingtonian. I grew up in Congress Heights, in the same house where my grandmother raised her four children. Both my parents are graduates of Ballou High School. I’m also the only teacher on the Board. Before joining the Board, I taught at our own Kramer Middle School. This ward - our community - is in my blood.
As a full-time teacher and Board member, I’ve seen our students’ academic struggles firsthand. To overcome the challenges facing our schools we need an advocate with real-life classroom experience and a deep commitment to our home, Ward 8. That’s why I’m running for re-election to the State Board on November 8th. Help me be the advocate that Ward 8 families deserve by contributing $50 or whatever you can afford today.
